The Labette County (Kan.) Sheriff is delaying the transfer of patrol trucks to the Public Works Department despite the departments’ agreement to transfer ownership of the trucks at a certain time, the Parsons Sun reported. Four years ago, Public Works and the Sheriff’s Office jointly paid for Dodge Ram pickup trucks, with Public Works set to receive the trucks after the Sheriff’s Office use.

However, the new sheriff says he doesn’t have the funding to replace his vehicles so he can’t give up the trucks requested by Public Works. He wants to end the puchase agreement in the future.
