San Francisco City Workers Must Pay Meters
SAN FRANCISCO - San Francisco city workers on official business are no longer allowed to park for free at meters, as decided on Nov. 16 by the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency governing board. Approximately 2,500 vehicles in the City fleet will be affected.
SAN FRANCISCO - San Francisco city workers on official business are no longer allowed to park for free at meters, as decided on Nov. 16 by the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency governing board, reported the San Francisco Chronicle.
Drivers must pay the meters unless the departments they work for purchase new annual parking permits that cost $924 each.
There are approximately 2,500 vehicles in the City fleet that will be affected.
The policy change is expected to generate an estimated $2.3 million annually for the agency to help fund Muni service, according to the newspaper.
