San Diego County Auctions Surplus Fleet to Public

RAMONA, CA - San Diego County put its surplus fleet, including some specialty vehicles, on the auction block Saturday, July 17, according to the Ramona Sentinel.
The public auction was run by TNT Auction Company all day at the Ramona Rodeo Grounds. The public could register and view items beginning at 7 a.m. on the day of the auction.
Vehicles from the cities of Coronado, National City, Indio, and other government agencies were included. All items were available for inspection for the two days prior to the event and for preview on the company's Web site with photos and brief descriptions.
Among the county's items were 160 Ford vans, trucks, and sedans, all-terrain vehicles, tractor mower, and a cart with a dump bed. On the exotic vehicle side, the county auctioned a bookmobile, ambulance, refrigerator truck, mobile office trailer, and a command vehicle that includes a microwave, sink, refrigerator, table, bathroom, and wheelchair lift.
The county said that proceeds from the county auction sales maintain and replenish the vehicle fleet, according to the Ramona Sentinel.
