Want More? Pursuit-Rated Vehicles: More than just Police Chases
PFC 2024 Session Spotlight: The Police Pursuit Vehicle - Is it Still Necessary?
Two law enforcement fleet professionals will provide a look at what makes a vehicle pursuit-rated, and discuss common concerns your stakeholders and fellow officers may have.

In a Police Fleet Conference session weighing the benefits of pursuit-rated vehicles, OEM representatives will share what changes they make to their vehicles to make them pursuit-rated.

With many municipalities and counties changing vehicle pursuit policies, whether to purchase pursuit-rated vehicles can become a point of contention. Why would you need a vehicle capable of hitting 130 mph if your local government doesn't allow them?
Addressing Both Sides of the Argument
At the 2024 Police Fleet Conference (PFC) at GFX, two law enforcement fleet professionals will address both sides of the argument, weighing the benefits and potential pushback you may receive for opting for pursuit-rated vehicles.
Mike McCarthy is a retired lieutenant from Michigan State Police’s (MSP) precision driving unit. MSP conducts a police vehicle evaluation each year, extensively testing the latest model year vehicles available for purchase. The majority of those vehicles are pursuit-rated vehicles.
Sgt. Jason Brake manages the law enforcement fleet for the city and county of Denver.
Together, McCarthy and Brake will discuss what a pursuit-rated vehicle is and what concerns your stakeholders and fellow officers may have. Then, OEM representatives will share what changes they make to their vehicles to make them pursuit-rated.
