ORLANDO, FL – Orlando International Airport is testing biodiesel fuel in 100 of its vehicles, according to the Orlando Sentinel newspaper. The program, which uses a mixture of 80 percent petroleum diesel and 20 percent biodiesel, uses about 1,000 gallons a day in its test vehicles.

“We continue to look for environmentally friendly, yet economically viable, alternatives to meet our growing demand for fuel for various ground operations around the airport,” said Steve Gardner, interim executive director for the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority, as quoted by the Orlando Sentinel. “Biodiesel offers that unique blend of comparable price and quality that we were looking for.”
