The City of Norman, Okla., plans to conduct a full review of the City’s fleet management operation to deal with a number of issues.
According to City documents, the City owns and operates a fleet of 855 vehicles and equipment and is replacing fewer than 30 vehicles per year. The document says the City’s concerns about its fleet include an excessively old fleet, fleet maintenance staff shortages, higher operating costs, and higher fuel costs.
The City put out a request for proposals, received three bids, and after review, is planning to work with Mercury Associates to conduct the fleet analysis. The analysis will cost $53,580, according to City documents.
