The Omaha (Neb.) Police Department took delivery of a new 45-foot mobile command center that can hold up to 15 officers. The vehicle is equipped with multiple work stations and a negotiation and conference room, KETV reported.
The vehicle, which cost $900,000, replaces a 18-year-old mobile command center.
The vehicle is designed to act as a mobile precinct where officers can run operations on the go. It is equipped with radios, computers, cameras, and other equipment needed to coordinate a police response in an emergency or pre-planned event, according to the police department's Facebook page. It will be used for the first time at the College World Series.
