Michigan State Police is investigating the source of its malfunctioning dash cams.
In March, an officer was involved in an incident that led to a man being hospitalized and charged with a felony. The vehicle's camera began recording during the traffic stop when the patrol car’s lights were activated, but it did not write the recording to the memory card, reports the News-Review. At the time, it was determined that Michigan State Police did not tamper with the video or memory card, but a cause was not identified.
