LASD Hosted Its Annual Vehicle Test. These Were the Fastest Vehicles.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department hosted its annual law enforcement vehicle testing. Here are the preliminary results.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department (LASD) hosted its 44th Annual Vehicle Evaluation & Expo at Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, Calif. Vehicles are driven 32 laps around the track by members of LASD’s Emergency Vehicle Operations Center, as well as drivers from the Los Angeles Police Department.
Out of all the vehicles tested, the Dodge Charger V8 AWD had the fastest 0-60 mph time, at 5.99 seconds. Ford’s Police Interceptor Utility Ecoboost AWD came in second, at 6.04 seconds.
Ford’s Police Interceptor Utility Ecoboost AWD had the fastest 0-100 mph time, at 14.39 seconds. The Dodge Charger V8 AWD came in second, at 15.25 seconds.
During the 32-lap dynamic testing, the Ford's Police Interceptor Utility Ecoboost AWD had the fastest average lap time at 1 minute, 22.2 seconds, followed by the Dodge Charger V8 AWD at 1 minute, 22.4 seconds.
On the motorcycle side, the Honda ST1300P had the fastest 0-60 mph time, at 4.37 seconds, followed by Harley-Davidson’s FLHTP Electra Glide Stage 2, at 4.64 seconds.
The Yamaha FJR 1300 showed the fastest 0-100 mph time, at 9.27 seconds. BMW’s R1250 RT-P came in second, at 9.75 seconds.

Officers and fleet personnel from around the area attended the event, which included the vehicle tests, a product expo, and ride-and-drives. The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department has conducted vehicle testing since 1974. The testing process is designed to address the law enforcement officer's operational requirements in terms of vehicle performance, vehicle safety, and comfort.
