KANSAS CITY, MO – The National League of Cities (NLC) selected the City of Kansas City, Mo. to showcase its alternative-fuel vehicle program at the NLC Congress of Cities and Exposition, Nov. 9-12, in Phoenix, Ariz. Kansas City has converted its vehicles to a range of alternative fuels and power sources, including compressed natural gas, biodiesel, and electricity.
“The Alternative Fuel Vehicle program’s selection by the National League of Cities is just the latest confirmation that our City is viewed as a leader in the area of sustainable practices,” said the City’s Mayor Sly James. “Given that the program yields cost savings while contributing to air quality improvement, it’s apparent why other cities want to learn about it.”
