HUNTSVILLE, AL - The City of Huntsville has selected a new fleet management system for its fleet of 2,500 vehicles and other equipment.
Looking to move beyond the Fleet Management Division’s existing mainframe system, which no longer could support their operations, the Fleet Management Division went through a competitive selection process before choosing AssetWorks’ FleetFocus Fleet Management System.
The City of Huntsville Fleet Management Division is staffed by more than 40 employees and is tasked with ensuring each city department has properly equipped and maintained vehicles and equipment. Responsibilities include the procurement, fueling services, and repair and maintenance of all types of vehicles and equipment, ranging from automated garbage trucks to emergency response vehicles to mowing equipment.
“After looking at several options, we determined that AssetWorks FleetFocus was the most comprehensive software solution available,” states Jeff Easter, General Services Director, City of Huntsville.
The City also plans to implement other solutions, including AssetWorks FuelFocus and KeyValet. FuelFocus is an automated fueling solution designed to help fleets save 10-15 percent in fuel costs via improved efficiency and reduced shrinkage. KeyValet is an automated motor pool solution.
