Grasshopper Company Receives Sustainability Award
MOUNDRIDGE, KS – The Grasshopper Company received special recognition from the Green Biz Wichita organization for accomplishments in sustainable manufacturing and adoption of sustainable concepts in product design.
MOUNDRIDGE, KS – On the heels of a state environmental award, The Grasshopper Company received special recognition in July from the Green Biz Wichita organization for accomplishments in sustainable manufacturing and adoption of sustainable concepts in product design.
Green Biz Wichita is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting sustainable, environmentally-friendly concepts among businesses in the greater Wichita area, which is Kansas’ largest metropolitan area. The organization chose The Grasshopper Company as their featured member in August.
“The Grasshopper Company has taken a leading role among area businesses in supporting sustainable business practices,” said Dixie Larson, director of Green Biz Wichita and marketing director of Kennedy & Coe, a Certified Public Accountants and Consulting firm. “Their recent Pollution Prevention Award from the State of Kansas and their desire to promote the green concept to other companies are both worthy of special recognition.”
The Pollution Prevention Award, or P2 Award, was presented to Grasshopper in July by the Kansas Department of Commerce in July in recognition of both raw material conservation through investments in enhanced manufacturing processes and for the MaxTorque Clean Diesel campaign which enables the company’s customers to reduce fuel consumption and air emissions while increasing productivity and profitability in lawn care practices.
“While we’re proud of this special recognition from Green Biz Wichita, we’re most excited about other businesses being inspired to conserve materials and reduce waste in all that they do,” announced Stan Guyer, president of The Grasshopper Company. “Green Biz Wichita is about creating an area-wide focus on cleaner air, less pollution and higher quality of life in the region. These are all concepts The Grasshopper Company strongly believes in.”
As a leading innovator of turf care products, Grasshopper is working closely with engine and component suppliers to ensure the company’s zero-turn radius mowers and implements remain the most fuel efficient and productive solutions for lawn care professionals worldwide. A Fuel Expense and Emissions Calculator was recently added to the company’s award-winning website to assist lawn care professionals with fuel and equipment budgeting with regard to minimizing environmental impact through choices made in commercial mowing equipment.
