The City of Statesboro, Georgia, is spending up to $684,000 on a new compressed natural gas fueling station for its fleet of CNG-fueled trucks, according to the Statesboro Herald.
The city has 12 CNG-fueled vehicles in its fleet, including six large trash trucks, four light-duty pickup trucks, and two heavy-duty service trucks.
The current CNG station the city uses was purchased used from Georgia Southern University in 2013. Due to age and wear, the system now needs to be replaced. The university originally used it to supply gas to a fleet of CNG-fueled buses.
