SEARCHDEARBORN, MI – At a recent Ford commercial vehicle media event, the automaker said its 2012 Ford F-650 will be available as a gasoline model with a 6.8L V-10 engine. Ford said it created this option to help meet the needs of municipalities looking to reduce costs.
DEARBORN, MI – At a recent Ford commercial vehicle media event, the automaker said its 2012 Ford F-650 will be available as a gasoline model with a 6.8L V-10 engine.
According to the automaker, the vehicle is designed to be affordable for municipalities. The gasoline engine is mated to a six-speed transmission, the combination of which Ford expects to save municipalities $8,300 per vehicle compared to the F-650 diesel model.
All 2012 Ford F-650 and F-750 models will have available SYNC technology to help drivers focus on the road. Ford noted that last month, the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration and the Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration issued a ruling prohibiting Interstate commercial truck and bus drivers from using hand-held electronics while behind the wheel.
