Fla. Energy Agency Opens Third Natural Gas Fueling Station
Pensacola Energy in Florida opened its third compressed natural gas (CNG) fueling station, allowing additional fueling opportunities for CNG fleets in the region.

Pensacola Energy in Florida opened its third compressed natural gas (CNG) fueling station, allowing additional fueling opportunities for CNG fleets in the region.
The public station has two fast-fill hoses and 10 time-fill hoses to be exclusively used by the Emerald Coast Utilities Authority (ECUA). The ECUA, a local government body that provides water, wastewater, and sanitation services, has 20 CNG vehicles that operate out of this location.
The station is owned and operated by Pensacola Energy, a subsidiary of the City of Pensacola. The station is open 24/7, is accessible to all vehicle classes and types, and features multiple truck lanes with convenient access to a freeway. Payment options include Gas Card, Wex, Fuelman, Fleet One, and Voyager, in addition to most major credit cards.
Pensacola Energy’s two other fueling stations also serve public and private fleets. Pensacola Energy has 12 CNG vehicles, while ECUA has 76. Other city departments that have CNG vehicles include Sanitation, Public Works, and Police, according to Dena Faessel of Pensacola Energy.
ECUA plans to add 17-20 natural gas vehicles per year.
