A sergeant with the Harris County (Texas) Sheriff’s Office was hospitalized after coming in contact with a fentanyl-laced paper flyer found on her fleet vehicle, the Houston Chronicle reported.
Flyers were placed on the windshields of 15 to 20 Sheriff’s Office vehicles, and at least one of those tested positive for fentanyl. The sergeant was hospitalized after touching the flyer and has been released from the hospital, the HCSO reported via Twitter.
“Fentanyl is not only dangerous for the drug’s users, but for law enforcement, public health workers, and first responders who unknowingly come into contact with it in its different forms,” Sheriff Ed Gonzalez tweeted.
The flyers promoted the organization Targeted Individuals, which believes that the FBI and CIA targets certain individuals, according to the Houston Chronicle.
