President Dave Polak stated, "We are proud to be the first GSA supplier able to provide proven quality DEF equipment for government fleets. Both federal and local agencies now have convenient and easy access to equipment required for SCR vehicles across the country. The Blue1USA equipment meets both UL-508A electrical standards and ISO 22241-3,4 material compatibility standards assuring fleets that their investment will provide many years of safe, reliable performance."
Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) is used in the SCR engine process to convert the harmful NOx emissions into harmless nitrogen and water. Removing this chemical from the diesel exhaust has been mandated by the EPA for all new vehicles manufactured after January 1, 2010. The diesel exhaust fluid is 67.5% de-ionized water and 32.5% Urea. It is non-toxic, non-hazardous, colorless and odorless. It is sensitive to both high and low temperature extremes and must be stored in dedicated, sealed containers to protect the product purity from harmful contaminants.
