Yamaha Bicycles announced the launch of a new e-commerce platform, in partnership with its large network of dealers, aimed at simplifying the e-bike purchasing process.
E-bikes — electric bicycles — are used by many police departments.
“While many companies may offer an e-commerce sales platform, they often neglect the crucial role provided by their dealers. At Yamaha, we believe in the power of partnership and collaboration with our dealers, and we recognize the vital role our dealers play in the customer experience,” Yamaha Power Assist Bicycles National Sales and Marketing Manager Drew Engelmann said.
Customers — fleets included — can browse the latest models from Yamaha Bicycles, gather information on each model, and easily make their purchase online, which is then fulfilled by Yamaha Bicycles dealers. By participating in the e-commerce program, the dealer is the seller of record.
The program is designed to build lasting connections between the customers and their local dealers.
Every Yamaha Bicycle comes with a three-year warranty on the frame, motor and battery, and component manufacturers’ warranties are supported by Yamaha.
"Connecting customers to the expertise and knowledge of an official Yamaha Bicycles dealer makes the [purchasing] experience much more enjoyable, in addition to the confidence and safety from a professional assembly and delivery," a media spokesperson told Government Fleet.
For police fleets interested in choosing a bike from Yamaha's lineup, a company spokesperson recommended the CrossCore RC due to its long range, ability to easily accessorize with equipment, and its light weight. The suspension work, wide tires, and disc brakes are premium products that increase comfort, handling, and performance which are mission-critical for law enforcement agencies.
