City, County to Build Joint CNG Station
The City of Olathe and Johnson County, both in Kansas, have agreed to collaborate on the construction of a $3.3 million joint compressed natural gas (CNG) fueling station.

The City of Olathe and Johnson County, both in Kansas, have agreed to collaborate on the construction of a $3.3 million joint compressed natural gas (CNG) fueling station, the Kansas City Star reported. The station will be used to fuel the city’s solid waste fleet and the county’s bus fleet.
The city will pay two-thirds of the station cost and another half million dollars for station equipment. It is receiving $800,000 in grant funds to help pay for the project. The county will cover one third of the station cost, according to city council meeting documents.
Clean Energy designed the fueling station, to be constructed at the city’s Public Works facility. Construction is expected to begin in February 2017.
