Cherokee County Cuts Fleet and Take-Home Vehicles to Combat Fuel Costs
CANTON, GA - Cherokee County is facing a 30-percent increase in fuel costs when compared with the previous fiscal year.
CANTON, GA – Cherokee County is combating higher fuel costs this year with reductions to its fleet size and number of take-home vehicles, according to an article in the Cherokee Tribune.
The County has 599 vehicles in its fleet now, down from 639 last in the fiscal year. The County removed 35 employee take-home vehicles from its fleet and reduced the overall fleet size by 40 vehicles, according to the article. The County is facing a 30-percent increase in fuel costs.
Beyond the focus on Cherokee County, the article covers a number of other local cities’ efforts to reduce fuel costs, including Woodstock, Holly Springs, Ball Ground, Waleska, Nelson, and Canton.
