Caterpillar Reports Strong Third-Quarter Profits
PEORIA, IL - Caterpillar, a heavy equipment manufacturer, more than doubled its third-quarter profit compared to a year ago, reported the Associated Press.
PEORIA, IL – Caterpillar, a heavy equipment manufacturer, more than doubled its third-quarter profit compared to a year ago, reported the Associated Press. Net profit totaled $498 million, up from $222 million in the third quarter of 2003. In addition, revenue was up 38 percent from a year ago. According to the AP, Caterpillar reported that profit on engine sales was up 96 percent and machinery profit was up 78 percent.
