SACRAMENTO – The California Air Resources Board (ARB) announced Dec. 13 its grant solicitation for the $1 million Advanced Technology Demonstration Projects: Zero-Emission Off-Road Equipment. California-based public agencies such as air districts, ports, state or local government entities, or agencies with expertise implementing demonstration projects and the requisite knowledge of off-road equipment operations may apply.

The goal of the solicitation is to accelerate zero-emission off-road technology into the marketplace. It can fund activities such as pilot demonstrations, construction and deployment of prototypes, emissions testing, and practical demonstrations of technologies with a high potential to be commercialized. Projects funded under the utilization must be within three years of commercialization. Projects that can utilize full zero-emission technology may score higher than those technologies that only partially eliminate emissions, although both project types will be considered.

Up to five independent projects may be selected. The grantee must match a minimum of 50% of the total project budget.

Applications are due Feb. 7, 2013. On Jan. 3, 2013, ARB will hold an applicant workshop in Sacramento to answer questions regarding the solicitation. More information can be found at the ARB site.
