The San Bernardino County, California, Assessor-Recorder-Clerk (ARC) is rolling out its latest office location: a 2018 Ford Thor Motorcoach Vegas-Series RV.
Dubbed the “ARC Mobile Unit,” the agency’s office on wheels is equipped with the latest technology to allow for the remote production and secure issuance of vital records copies (birth, death, and marriage certificates), marriage licenses, performance of marriage ceremonies, and recording of documents.
Federally funded through the CARES Act, the mobile unit became a joint project of the county’s ARC, Administrative Office, and Fleet Management Department. Through the Fleet Management Department, the RV was retrofitted to a mobile office that uses renewable energy as it is equipped with solar-powered batteries. The vehicle also has mobile internet capabilities and can accept payment via debit/credit card.
