The Boise Police Department in Idaho unveiled a new patrol car that brings awareness to domestic abuse and sexual assault. The specialty car features a purple ribbon design and was unveiled during the month of February, which is recognized as Teen Dating Violence Awareness month.
“The impact domestic violence has on our children and our community as a whole is immeasurable and we are committed to improving our efforts to prevent domestic violence, respond to the needs of the victims and hold offenders accountable,” Police Chief William Bones said in a statement. “Through awareness, we hope to encourage people to report abuse and increase the understanding that there is help available and no one has to live in fear.”
