Beloit, Wis., to Develop Fleet Petroleum Use Reduction Plan
The City of Beloit is conducting a study in order to create a plan to reduce the City’s petroleum usage, fleet-related costs, and greenhouse gas emissions.
The City of Beloit, Wis., plans to conduct a study to develop a plan to reduce its fleet’s petroleum fuels use and identify barriers to the City using alternative-fuel vehicles in its fleet.
The Beloit City Council approved a resolution on April 15 that authorizes Beloit’s city manager to apply for grants from the State of Wisconsin Energy Office to help pay for the assessment.
After the study, City documents state that Wisconsin Clean Cities and Wisconsin’s Energy Office will help the City implement the resulting plan.
The study’s goal, according to City documents, is to create a plan to reduce the City’s petroleum usage, reduce fleet-related costs, and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
