DALLAS, TX – BAF Technologies, a provider of natural gas and propane vehicle upfits, has received the National NGV Achievement Award given by NGV America and the Clean Vehicle Education Foundation. The award was presented to the company at the National NGV Conference. The awards are given to NGV industry equipment and service suppliers, policy-makers, customers, and clean-air/clean transportation advocates for their contributions in NGV education, government relations, policy development, public relations, marketing, technology development, and operations.

In 2006, BAF achieved SULEV certification from CARB and the EPA for the 2006 Ford Crown Victoria (Mercury Grand Marquis and Lincoln Town Car) by employing its proprietary technology. This milestone means that hundreds of fleet vehicles will now have a ready alternative-fuel option. At the time of the nomination in 2006, BAF had upfitted more than 100 Crown Victorias to be used as taxis in New York, California, and Arizona. In addition, the company has contracts for 300 more vehicles this year alone.

The nomination process also considered BAF’s business practices, record of innovation, and proactive practices of promoting NGVs. BAF provided information on its work with other industry leaders, number of vehicles converted, and information about its SULEV technology as part of the review process.
