APWA Cancels PWX 2020 Conference
The American Public Works Association has announced it will cancel its Public Works Expo, originally scheduled for August 31-Sept. 2 in New Orleans.

The American Public Works Association (APWA) has announced it will cancel its Public Works Expo (PWX) this year, originally scheduled for August 31-Sept. 2 in New Orleans. Staff members are working on a digital online experience instead, scheduled for this summer.
The meeting venue, the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center, is closed to the public and is being used as a field hospital for COVID-19 patients. Additionally, the mayor of New Orleans extended its stay at home order until May 16. The APWA Board of Directors made the decision to cancel taking into account the health and safety of attendees as well as that of APWA staff, according to a letter from its president and chief executive officer.
More information about the virtual event will be released in the next few weeks.
