KANSAS CITY, MO – Nine fleet professionals from across the United States and Canada recently earned credentials as Certified Public Fleet Professionals (CPFP) from the American Public Works Association (APWA). The group is the second to be certified under the new program, which was launched by APWA in September 2006.

• Allen Mitchell, CPFP, fleet manager, Snohomish County, Everett, Wash.
  

  
  

• Jason Rasmussen, CPFP, fleet manager, City of South Jordan, Utah.
  

  
  

• George Schwarz, CPFP, director of bureau of vehicle management, City of Harrisburg, Pa.
  

  
  

• Curtis Shaw, CPFP, equipment pool supervisor, City of Walla Walla, Wash.
  

  
  

• Bob Stanton, CPFP, director of fleet management, Polk County, Bartow, Fla.
  

  
  

• Jack Stucky, CPFP, vehicle maintenance superintendent, City of Missoula, Mont.

  The Public Fleet Professional Certification program is designed to ensure individual competency and provide the public works industry with recognized hiring and promotion standards. The first CPFP examination was administered Apr. 21 in St. Paul, Minn.
