The Morgan County (Ala.) Sheriff's Office has begun installing video systems in 16 leased Ford P.I. Utility patrol vehicles so its entire fleet will have the systems, reports the Decatur Daily.
The sheriff has previously installed the systems in 10 vehicles, but conflicting stories about what happens at traffic stops have pushed the agency to install the systems across its fleet.
The systems cost between $900 and $1,500 when paired with a body camera system. The agency transferred several dash-cam systems from retired Crown Victoria patrol cars after purchasing $300 mounting brackets to fit them into the SUVs.
