SAMPSON COUNTY, N.C. - Sampson County is in dire need of new patrol cars. The vehicles in the current fleet are worn-out and have lots of miles on them. Sheriff officials thought they had a solution, but County Commissioners put the freeze on it.

The Commissioners opted to hold off purchasing any new patrol cars until next year.

The Sheriff is concerned that having vehicles in such poor condition jeopardizes his deputy's safety and the performance of his department.
