An emergency response team was investigated for misconduct while helping a neighboring county in the aftermath of Hurricane Florence. According to the report from WCNC, members of the team violated county policy, which states alcoholic beverages may not be carried in any fleet vehicle except when it is evidence in a criminal investigation.

The EMS crew was sent from Gaston County to Bladen County to provide aid following the storm. WCNC’s report noted that not all members of the 10-person crew were accused of misconduct. At least one member of the crew was the whistleblower.
