A: A geofence is a virtual perimeter created around a real-world location, which limits the operational area a vehicle can travel. If a vehicle travels outside of this location, the fleet manager and/or other designated stakeholders will receive an alert.
Geofences can be set specifically to the operational needs of the fleet. For instance, it can be matched to a daily, set route for a service technician, and, at night, reset to the confines of a garage or yard as a part of the fleet’s overall security measures.
