The Rockford (Ill.) Police Department is raising money for in-vehicle video systems after an officer died while on duty. The officer and the man he pulled over died two weeks ago, but since there was no camera, the details of the incident are unknown, My Stateline reported.

The agency hopes to install dashboard cameras on all 105 vehicles in the police fleet, as only a quarter of the fleet is equipped. The agency has considered buying new patrol cars with the technology.
