The Hennepin County (Minn.) Sheriff’s Office has added an unmanned air carrier to its fleet to reduce costs after a year of testing and an approval from the Federal Aviation Administration, Fox9 reported.
The drone cost $7,000, in comparison to renting the state’s helicopter for $1,000 per hour, the Sheriff’s Office should recoup costs quickly. The drone has already been used for a body recovery.
