The City of Spring Hill, Tenn., is getting a head start on its vehicle purchases for the year to meet the deadline for Chevrolet Caprice PPV orders, reports the Spring Hill Homepage.
The city, which is home to a General Motors plant, uses the Caprice PPV as its standard police vehicle. Although it just purchased seven Caprices in December, the city must now vote to buy 10 more for 2017. About 98% of the city's fleet consists of GM vehicles.
General Motors announced that it will discontinue the Caprice PPV, as the factory that produces the vehicle will shut down. Fleets can order the model through the end of February.
