Bergen County (N.J.) has added another customer to its insourced fleet operations. Officials approved a shared services contract with the Bergen County Board of Social Services, in which the county will handle vehicle maintenance and repair.
The board will have access to the county's Mechanical Services Division and vehicle repair facility. Previously, the Board of Social Services sent its vehicles to private vendors for maintenance, reports the Paramus Post.
The county is currently offering shared service contracts with many municipalities and school districts in an effort to save taxpayer money. It already holds similar vehicle repair and maintenance contracts with several public fleets, including the Borough of North Arlington and Township of Washington.
