Toyota has released several photos of its next-gen 2016 Tacoma mid-size pickup ahead of the vehicle's debut at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit starting June 12.

Toyota has yet to provide details about the refreshed Tacoma, which is now facing increased competition from General Motors' Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon mid-size pickups that returned for the 2015 model year. GM is adding a diesel engine option to the trucks for the 2016 model year.

A rear-facing photo of the new Tacoma shows badging for a V-6 engine and 4x4 drivetrain.

Fleets registered 13,152 Tacomas in 2013, including 10,074 in commercial fleets.
