GovPlanet, a new online marketplace dedicated to buying and selling used government assets, announced that buyers can now view and bid on U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) rolling stock surplus assets. The first auction, to be held Nov. 19, will feature more than 175 inspected items, many of which are available for preview now on www.govplanet.com.

Iron Planet, an online marketplace for buying and selling used government assets, launched the GovPlanet website in September. IronPlanet was awarded the contract to manage and sell rolling stock surplus assets of the DoD on July 25, and GovPlanet.com will serve as the primary marketplace for these assets.

The auction will feature rolling stock surplus assets of the DoD, including trucks, trailers, generators, wheel loaders, cranes, crawler tractors, and other equipment. Every item on GovPlanet will include an inspection report with a thorough description of the equipment’s condition and features and photos. These reports are backed by IronPlanet’s IronClad Assurance buyer protection program, which guarantees the report is an accurate description of the item’s condition. Buyers can preview rolling stock surplus assets of the DoD two weeks before each auction.

GovPlanet.com will also hold auctions on Wednesdays in December on the 3, 10, and 17. Inventory may be viewed two weeks in advance of each auction.
