Beam Global announced the deployment of seven EV ARC off-grid electric vehicle charging systems for the City of Fresno, California. The systems were installed at the City’s Municipal Service Center Yard and will support charging for Fresno’s municipal electric vehicle fleet.
Off-Grid Charging Deployment At Municipal Service Center
The EV ARC systems are designed to provide EV charging without construction, trenching, or connection to the utility grid. Each unit generates and stores its own electricity, allowing fleet vehicles to be charged on-site while avoiding reliance on grid power. The systems are intended to support fleet operations while reducing exposure to grid outages.
The City of Fresno procured the charging systems through Beam Global’s General Services Administration Multiple Award Schedule contract.
“This deployment shows how cities can use existing cooperative contracts to quickly add charging infrastructure,” said Desmond Wheatley, chief executive officer of Beam Global.
Fleet Operations And Procurement
Beam Global said the EV ARC systems allow Fresno to charge municipal fleet vehicles using renewable energy generated on-site. The company said the approach avoids the construction and electrical work typically required for grid-connected charging infrastructure.
The deployment at the Municipal Service Center Yard is intended to support fleet charging needs while reducing fuel and utility costs and simplifying installation compared with traditional charging solutions.

Bobit Business Media surveyed 190 fleet professionals and found that while most fleets are tracking costs, fragmented systems and data gaps are keeping true TCO visibility out of reach. With rising pressure to control spend in an increasingly volatile environment, the gap between what fleets think they know and what the data actually shows is wider than you might expect. See how your peers are managing costs today and where the industry still has room to improve.
