Acela Truck Company announced that is has entered into a dealer agreement with Firefighter One (FF1) to distribute Acela’s Monterra line of extreme-duty, high water/flood recue trucks throughout the New Jersey and Delaware region.

Jonathon Van Norman, President of FF1 said in a press release that FF1 has seen an increase in demand for purpose-built, modern and reliable flood rescue trucks due to "flooding events becoming commonplace on the East Coast," while adding that "repurposing and maintaining old and unreliable surplus military trucks isn’t what our first responders need."

The partnership between the two companies to offer high-water flood rescue trucks and wildland fire trucks expands Acela Truck Company’s distribution footprint and FF1’s product offerings.

"The Acela Monterra, with its 46-inch tires, all-wheel-drive, 50-inch water fording capability and central tire inflation system has proven to be the perfect solution for flood rescue response and can easily serve double-duty as wildland/brush trucks outside of flood/hurricane season," said Norman.
