A 14-year-old has been arrested, accused of throwing a firework onto the property where a Metro Nashville Police Department vehicle was parked, causing it to catch it on fire.

The vehicle was parked at an off-duty officer's home on July 11 when the fire happened. The teen was charged with arson and was taken to a juvenile detention facility.

A Metro Nashville Police spokesperson said an estimate on the cost of the damage could take a few weeks, but it's believed the car is a total loss.
