The Escambia County, Florida, Sheriff's Office announced it is adding a new vehicle to its fleet, calling it its "freeist" addition: a 2017 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 seized from a felony suspect. The wrap and upfitting to the vehicle were funded by the Escambia County Sheriff Foundation, according to a post on its Facebook page.

The vehicle made its debut at a "Dining for Deputies" event on June 23.

The Corvette will not be used to apprehend suspects. It will be used to interact with residents, and is meant to help residents become comfortable with law enforcement officers, according to KWTX.
