The Sierra Vista, Arizona, Fleet Maintenance department will take over school bus maintenance for the neighboring Palominas Elementary School District. The superintendent told Government Fleet that the district does not currently have a mechanic, and that it is struggling to find a new one. The Sierra Vista City Council approved an intergovernmental agreement to provide the district fleet maintenance and repair services.
The agreement will minimize costs to taxpayers and maximize benefits to both the city and the school district, according to the resolution.
Sierra Vista has intergovernmental agreements with more than 20 other agencies, including school districts.
