Volvo will showcase its XC40 Recharge EV at this year’s Government Fleet Expo & Conference (GFX).
Debuting as a fleet vehicle in 2021, the Volvo XC40 Recharge is now available for custom order as a fully equipped, pure electric police vehicle.
Volvo Cars has produced police, emergency, and light-armored vehicles in Europe since 1929. The company has seen an ongoing shift toward electrification and sustainability and is now expanding the initiative into North America, with the XC40 Recharge EV and various Mild Hybrid models now available to municipalities and government agencies in the U.S.
Volvo offers full outfitting for police and emergency vehicles, with a tailored approach to suit each fleet’s needs. The offering is new to the U.S. and is intended for government entities and municipalities seeking a collaborative partner focused on safety and sustainability.
Volvo’s range of Mild Hybrid light-armor vehicles with bulletproof construction are all certified to NIJ-IIIA and VPAM standards for the first time in the United States.
Volvo Cars said it is a company built on a heritage of safety and is proud to provide a new way to help serve and protect the American people. The new offering shows the company’s commitment to sustainability, and it ensures the brand will continue to build products for the planet, for the future, and for everyone’s safety.
