The North Brunswick, New Jersey, Police Department is borrowing several patrol cars from neighboring police departments after a large amount of their vehicles were damaged and put out of service during Hurricane Ida last month.

Police Chief Joseph Battaglia told NJ.com that the department had nearly 30 vehicles and other equipment flooded during the storm and had to borrow a few cars from other departments.

In total, 11 police departments came to North Brunswick PD's rescue, in addition to one private company, East Coast Emergency Lighting.

The department posted photos of the loaned vehicles on its Facebook page to let residents know that they will be operating a mix of North Brunswick PD and out-of-town police cars while repairs and replacements are being made.
