The U.S. recall, tied to a software defect, covers 3.64 million vehicles in the 2014 to 2017 model years.
Built upon the same Gamma II platform as the Chevrolet Sonic and Buick Encore, the Chevrolet Trax is a new subcompact crossover SUV. The Trax will debut in late winter or early spring as a 2015 model.
The Trax has a small footprint, a small engine and clever interior cargo space that maximizes every inch of the vehicle. Chevrolet will be offering a fleet version of the Trax based on the entry model LS trim.
In addition to older models, this latest round of recalls includes some late-model Chevrolet, Cadillac and Buick vehicles.
