Engineered Machined Products Inc. (EMP) thermal systems were designed to eliminate engine overheating on U.S. State Department armored suburban vehicles. The system features two 15-inch brushless DC electric fans, wire harness, and system controller with patent pending technology.
EMP's fan system improved ambient capability by 28 degrees Fahrenheit and reduced system current draw by 15 amps. Competitor fans lost rpm when voltage decreased due to high electrical draw, while EMP fans maintained a set speed, resulting in better than predicted results.
Features of the system include a spark-free motor for increased safety, more amperage available for electronics, the ability to operate in extreme heat, and quicker take-off in pickup situations.
