The State of West Virginia may change the way it handles state vehicle registrations to improve recordkeeping of the state fleet, reports WV Metro News. Currently, state vehicles are adorned with a distinctive green and white license plate. But those plates have no stickers or other identification to show the vehicle’s registration is up to date.
Under the proposed changes, state vehicles would have a blue and gold license plate with stickers and would be subject to annual or biannual registration.
Over the past year, the state has made efforts to improve oversight over its fleet after auditors could not determine an accurate vehicle count.
