The Utah Division of Fleet Operations was given the Fleet Excellence Award for its notable gains in operational efficiency.

In January 2013, Utah Governor Gary Herbert introduced the SUCCESS program, challenging state agencies to improve operational efficiency by 25% over the next four years. The Utah Division of Fleet Operations (DFO) responded to this challenge by implementing improvement strategies in vehicle utilization, pollution control, purchasing policies, and maintenance programs and services. By 2016, DFO achieved cuts in operating expenses by over 30%. The award was presented to Jeff Mottishaw, director of fleet operations.

The Distinguished Member Award was given to Past President Cindy Dixon of the State of Missouri. Under Dixon’s leadership, NCSFA grew and prospered, weathering the impacts of the economic downturn which had affected membership levels and fleet managers’ ability to attend conferences.  Her efforts resulted in increased membership and a more financially viable organization with expanded service delivery to members.
