The Solid Waste Authority of Central Ohio (SWACO) is hiring a fleet and facilities maintenance manager and a fleet/heavy equipment mechanic. SWACO, based in Grove City, one of 52 solid waste districts in Ohio, serves Franklin County and the neighboring areas.
The fleet and facilities maintenance manager directs and controls the fleet, facilities, and inventory department, programs, and activities to ensure D.O.T compliance with applicable federal, state, and local laws and rules. The incumbent will be a dynamic leader and ensure safety and relationships with internal customers. This position is responsible for oversight of inventories, purchasing, and contracts pertaining to the department.
The fleet and facilities maintenance manager’s direct reports include a fleet supervisor and a facility supervisor. The qualified candidate must have a bachelor’s degree in business or related technical field, and 10 or more years of experience in fleet and facility maintenance.
The fleet/heavy equipment mechanic works under the direction of the mechanic supervisor and is responsible for daily repair and maintenance of all landfill machines, vehicles, and equipment. A candidate should have at least two years of maintenance repair experience and preferably has an Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification. This is a non-exempt position with no direct reports that pays $21.67-$24.38 per hour.
